BBQ Buffalo Wings

I’m a massive chicken wings fan, I could possibly eat 100 wings in a sitting! Here’s my go-to recipe for finger-licking good BBQ Buffalo Wings:

Ingredients:

Buffalo Chicken Wings

Salt & Ground Black Pepper

Garlic Powder

Unsalted Butter

Hot Sauce

Apple Cider Vinegar

Honey

Instructions:

How much chicken you are using affects how much of the rest of the ingredients you use. I don’t follow a specific quantity of each item, I just eyeball it. It’s the method here that really counts (or so I tell myself…)

First things first, have your grill preheated on medium temperature.

Then, mix the wings with the salt, pepper and garlic powder. Make sure every wing is evenly coated and then place them all side by side onto a grill tray. You want to go against meat conventional wisdom and make sure the wings are close to each other so that they steam and stay moist. Grill the wings making sure to flip them over regularly. Do this for around 20-30 minutes.

As the wings start to grill, mix the remainder of the ingredients in a sauce pan to make our BBQ sauce. So throw in the butter, hot sauce, vinegar and honey and let them melt into one sauce. This part of the recipe is definitely down to your personal taste, hot sauce fan? Go wild! Sweet food lover? Overdose on the honey! Just ensure the texture of the mix stays somewhat thick and sticky to properly coat the wings.

Once that’s ready, pop your grilled wings into a mixing bowl and pour your sauce over them making sure all wings are generously coated. Use tongs to pop the wings back onto the grill tray. You can amp up the heat at this point to fully crisp the outer skin. Make sure to flip the wings and grill them on both sides for an even crispy texture.

And voila! Ready to devour. These bad boys served with a side of curly fries is my fave way to eat them 😉
